Job summary

Expeditors Ireland in Shannon is seeking an experienced Account Manager to strengthen relationships with house accounts, understand client strategy, and drive service excellence. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage schedules, and ensure timely billing and collections while expanding opportunities with existing customers.

The role emphasizes professional communication, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to document customer requirements clearly.

Qualifications

• 5 years account management experience.
• Minimum two years Expeditors/industry experience.
• Ability to write customer requirements for teammates.
• Knowledge of Expeditors operating systems and PC skills including word processing.
• Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Level one Account Management certification.
• Level one Sales certification.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen relationships with existing house accounts.
• Develop relationships at all levels beyond the main contact.
• Understand customers' business and Expeditors' role.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and follow up.
• Communicate service issues to Department Managers/Supervisors.
• Maintain weekly action-item lists for follow up.
• Identify opportunities to grow business from existing accounts.
• Lead calls schedule and coordination with teams.
• Assist with collections when needed.
• Manage client profiles by location.
• Build territory maps and update monthly.
• Provide updates to sales and operations as needed.
• Share weekly schedule with Departments to coordinate visits.
• Turn major opportunities over to Sales and Ops.
• Oversee business reviews—aim for at least one per account per year.
• Seek continual improvements for efficiency and cost reductions.
• Lead delivery of all local branch services.
• Assist and lead problem resolution for local issues.
• Ensure invoicing and payment processes are in place.
• Meet with local customers to maintain information and satisfaction.
• Be dedicated to Expeditors' success with ethical practices and attention to detail.
