Job summary

Expeditors in Ireland is seeking an experienced customs broker to coordinate clearance documentation and liaise with customs authorities. This role focuses on ensuring compliance, guiding customers on regulation requirements at origin and destination, and maintaining up-to-date policies.

You will resolve issues, review controls, and develop staff in line with regulatory changes, while delivering reliable, proactive service to our client base.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in customs brokerage or relevant education.
• Excellent knowledge of Irish customs procedures & systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and email software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate customs clearance documentation for our customers.
• Deal with the customs authority on a daily basis.
• Deliver excellent customer service to all customers.
• Be the specialist for all customs compliance issues and assist in resolving issues with customers.
• Review and update policies, procedures and controls.
• Ensure relevant regulations are in place for all customers/business.
• Identify improvement opportunities, risks or IT solutions for compliance and control.
• Develop and utilise Expeditors network to ensure uniform approach and best practices.
• Work on assigned key account customers to meet their needs.
• Keep knowledge on customs requirements up to date and implement new regulations.
• Ensure duty/VAT is processed correctly and collected as required.
• Resolve queries/refunds promptly.
• Maintain DLSOPs and assist Sales & Account Management with cost-saving options.
• Complete daily/weekly audits on all entries.
• Train and update staff on regulations and processes.
