Job summary

Deutsche Bahn is seeking a Design Manager in Dublin, Ireland, to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across infrastructure and rail projects. The role focuses on integrating engineering disciplines, managing progress, and ensuring designs meet client expectations.

The candidate will collaborate with project teams, contractors, and clients, applying governance, risk management, and change control to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing multidisciplinary design delivery on large projects.
• Knowledge of design management processes and design assurance across the lifecycle.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts and collaborative delivery models; strong stakeholder management and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities throughout project delivery.
• Oversee the integration of engineering disciplines for coordinated design development.
• Monitor design progress against project scope, programme, and budget.
• Facilitate communication between design teams, project teams, contractors, and clients.
• Support technical governance, design assurance, and risk management activities as well as design program, deliverables and change management.
• Ensure design deliverables meet project requirements, applicable standards, and client expectations.
• Coordinate design reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering initiatives.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and project handover activities where required.
• Contribute to project reporting and stakeholder engagement activities.
