A leading global manufacturing and technology organisation is seeking a Global Category Manager to lead category strategy, supplier performance and commercial delivery across a significant international spend portfolio.
This is a high-impact role with responsibility for shaping long term supply strategies, driving cost competitiveness, strengthening supplier partnerships and supporting new product introduction programmes across a global operation.
You will be be reporting into the global procurement leadership team, you will own category strategy, supplier segmentation and supply panel governance across your assigned categories.
You will work closely with product, engineering and regional procurement teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives, product roadmaps and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global category strategies across international supplier networks.
- Own supplier panel strategy including supplier consolidation, dual sourcing and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Lead strategic supplier negotiations and commercial framework agreements.
- Drive should cost modelling, total cost of ownership analysis and value engineering initiatives.
- Partner with product development and engineering teams to support new product introduction activities.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships focused on innovation, cost and performance.
- Establish supplier segmentation and governance frameworks.
- Lead supplier performance management across cost, quality, delivery and innovation metrics.
- Support responsible sourcing and supplier compliance programmes.
- Identify opportunities for supply continuity, resilience and operational improvement.
About You
- 12+ years' experience in Procurement, Category Management or Supply Chain within a multinational environment.
- Proven success developing and delivering global category strategies.
- Strong experience managing complex global supplier relationships and commercial agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver cost reduction through should cost analysis, TCO modelling and supplier challenge.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience operating within complex matrix organisations.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands on execution.
- engineering components, power, electronics; Industrial manufacturing or technology environments; experience supporting New Product Introduction programmes.
- Able and happy to travel globally 25% of the time
