Job summary

You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing, evaluate supplier capability, mitigate risk, and support new product initiatives from a sourcing perspective. Travel may be required.

Strategic Sourcing Manager - Manufacturing

Dublin | Global Manufacturing Organisation

We are currently partnering with a leading global organisation to appoint an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to join a well-established procurement function in Dublin.

This is a highly visible role offering ownership of strategic commodities and key supplier relationships within a complex, international manufacturing environment.

Working cross-functionally across Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, you will develop and execute sourcing strategies, lead commercial negotiations, drive supplier performance and support the development of a resilient, competitive and sustainable supply base.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and execute sourcing and commodity strategies across key areas of direct spend
• Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships
• Lead commercial negotiations and cost/productivity initiatives
• Evaluate supplier capability, capacity, performance and risk
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams
• Support new product and business initiatives from a sourcing perspective
• Identify and mitigate supply-chain risk
• Drive supplier development and continuous improvement
• Conduct market and supplier analysis to identify sourcing opportunities
• Support wider global procurement and commodity initiatives

The Person

We are interested in speaking with experienced Strategic Sourcing, Commodity or Procurement professionals who can demonstrate:

• Strong experience within strategic sourcing, commodity/category management or procurement
• Experience within a manufacturing or technically complex environment
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship-management experience
• Experience working with direct-material suppliers
• Excellent commercial, analytical and problem-solving capability
• A relevant degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related discipline

Experience within FDA, electronics, electro-mechanical, semiconductor, aerospace, industrial or advanced manufacturing environments would be particularly relevant.

International supplier exposure and experience in supplier development, market analysis and risk management would also be advantageous.

Some international travel will form part of the position.
