Job summary

Glanmore Foods in Blanchardstown, Dublin, part of Compass Group, seeks a General Operative to join a fast-paced production team. You will perform quality checks, pack and handle products, and support loading while maintaining high hygiene and safety standards.

Full-time, 40 hours per week, with weekend to Thursday schedule aligned to the academic calendar. You will contribute to daily targets, follow SOPs, and support colleagues in a busy environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out quality checks on products in line with SOPs.
• Prepare, pack, and handle products to meet daily targets.
• Clean and maintain packing and goods-out areas to hygiene standards.
• Record critical control points and daily/weekly checks using HACCP system.
• Support loading of outbound deliveries and ensure correct order preparation.
• Ensure finished products meet quality and presentation standards before dispatch.
• Complete daily equipment and area inspections and report defects to Line Manager.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures, including PPE usage.
• Adhere to attendance, leave, and workplace procedures.
• Participate in Performance Management and support team objectives.
• Assist with manual handling tasks across production and dispatch areas.

Job description

As a General Operative at our Blanchardstown, you will be a member of a highly efficient production team. You will be task focused with high standards! You will be a key member of the team to deliver world class food & service for our schools.

This is a full time role, working 40 hours per week, Saturday/Sunday to Thursday and will only be required to work in line with the academic calendar.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out quality checks on products in line with standard operating procedures.

• Prepare, pack, and handle products efficiently to meet daily production targets.

• Clean and maintain food packing and goods-out areas to required hygiene standards.

• Record critical control points and complete daily/weekly checks using our online HACCP management system

• Support the loading of outbound deliveries, ensuring products are prepared and loaded in the correct order.

• Ensure all finished products meet quality and presentation standards before dispatch.

• Complete daily equipment and area inspections, reporting any defects or concerns to your Line Manager.

• Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.

• Adhere to company policies relating to attendance, sickness reporting, annual leave, and other workplace procedures.

• Participate in the Performance Management process and contribute to achieving individual and team objectives.

• Assist with manual handling tasks, including lifting, moving, and transporting products and materials throughout the production and dispatch areas.

About You

• Previous experience in food production, food preparation, packing, warehouse, manufacturing, or a similar fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable undertaking a physically demanding role that involves standing for long periods, repetitive tasks, and regular manual handling.
• Able to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive, team-focused attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality standards.
• Reliable, organised, and willing to support colleagues as part of a busy production team.
• Experience in a similar environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
