Job summary

SuperValu in Ireland seeks a Food Department Supervisor to oversee fresh departments, ensuring top-quality service and excellent fresh offerings. You will prioritise workloads, drive KPI performance and manage stock, costs and merchandising to maintain high standards.

The role requires 1 year in a supervisor position, 2 years in Fresh Food, and a passion for fresh products. You will lead a team, deliver strong customer service, and uphold brand values in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a Fresh Food Department is desirable.
• 1 year of experience in a Supervisor/Manager role is desirable.
• An understanding of how to achieve KPIs and targets.
• Passion for fresh food.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure the smooth running of the fresh departments by prioritising and delegating the workload appropriately.
• Set, monitor and achieve sales targets with the team on gross profit margin, net margin, waste and other KPIs as agreed with Store Manager.
• Control stocktaking and overheads as per fresh budget.
• Foster good working relationships among the team.
• Hold regular fresh food meetings and communicate relevant details and results to the team.
• Manage employee performance, giving regular feedback, recognition and encouragement.
• Deal with all customer queries efficiently, professionally and consistent with store policy.
• Manage employee rostering and annual leave for fresh departments.
• Ensure merchandising and presentation of the fresh department is of the highest standard at all times and in accordance with relevant store planograms and guidelines.
