Excel Recruitment is assisting a leading retailer in Ireland to hire a Fresh Food Manager in Tralee. You will lead all fresh food operations, drive standards, maximise sales and profitability, ensure food safety compliance, and deliver an exceptional shopping experience for customers.

The ideal candidate will have proven senior experience in Fresh Food/Food Hall/Deli management, strong leadership and communication skills, HACCP knowledge, and a passion for retail excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience as Fresh Food Manager or related senior department role.
• Strong knowledge of fresh food retailing and store operations.
• Proven ability to hit sales and margin targets.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

As Fresh Food Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing all fresh food operations within the store. You will drive department standards, maximise sales and profitability, ensure food safety compliance, and deliver an exceptional shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of all fresh food departments
• Drive sales, margin, and profitability across the fresh food offering
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team to achieve outstanding results
• Ensure excellent product quality, presentation, and availability at all times
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, HACCP, and compliance
• Monitor stock levels, waste, and purchasing to improve efficiencies
• Identify opportunities for innovation, seasonal promotions, and product development
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create an engaging shopping environment

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience as a Fresh Food Manager, Food Hall Manager, Deli Manager, or Senior Department Manager
• Strong knowledge of fresh food retailing and supermarket operations
• Proven ability to achieve sales and margin targets
• Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety, and quality standards
