Job summary

GRN Search Group in Dundalk is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder with Road, Ocean or Air Freight experience to join a growing logistics operation.

You’ll manage shipments from booking to delivery across Ireland, the UK and Europe, liaising with customers, carriers and overseas partners to ensure smooth freight movements and high levels of service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in freight forwarding, Road/Ocean/Air.
• Strong end-to-end freight knowledge.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage freight movements from booking through to final delivery.
• Coordinate Road, Ocean and Air Freight shipments.
• Handle both import and export movements.
• Liaise with customers, carriers, hauliers and overseas partners.
• Prepare and manage relevant shipping documents.
• Track shipments and provide proactive updates.
• Resolve delays and operational issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate shipment information in the freight management system.
• Work closely with the forwarding and logistics team.
• Deliver a responsive, customer-focused service.

Are you an experienced Freight Forwarder with a background in Road, Ocean or Air Freight looking to join a growing logistics operation where you can broaden your experience across multiple modes?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established forwarding team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of freight movements across Ireland, the UK, Europe and worldwide.

You’ll manage shipments from booking through to delivery, working closely with customers, carriers and overseas partners to ensure freight moves efficiently while providing a high level of customer service.

You don’t need experience across every mode. If you have a solid grounding in Road, Ocean or Air Freight, understand the fundamentals of forwarding and can confidently manage shipments from day one, this could be your next career move.

The Role

• Manage freight movements from booking through to final delivery
• Coordinate Road, Ocean and Air Freight shipments
• Handle both import and export movements
• Liaise with customers, carriers, hauliers, shipping lines and overseas partners
• Prepare and manage relevant shipping and transport documentation
• Track shipments and provide customers with proactive updates
• Resolve delays and operational issues as they arise
• Maintain accurate shipment information within the freight management system
• Work closely with the wider forwarding and logistics team
• Deliver a responsive, reliable and customer-focused service

About You

• Previous experience within Freight Forwarding, ideally 2+ years
• Experience within Road, Ocean or Air Freight
• Good understanding of the end-to-end freight forwarding process
• Comfortable managing shipments with a good degree of independence
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Confident working in a busy, fast-paced forwarding environment
• Proactive approach to problem-solving
• Experience across multiple freight modes would be advantageous but is not essential
