Job summary

Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) has exciting opportunities for Fisheries Officers to join our team in Tralee, Co. Kerry. The role focuses on front-line enforcement of Fisheries Acts and Water Pollution Acts, and on providing conservation and development services inland and at sea.

The position involves patrolling, enforcing bye-laws, habitat improvement, and developing access and angling infrastructure. This outdoors role requires flexibility with hours, including weekends and early mornings.

Qualifications

• Leaving Certificate (Level 5 NFQ) or recognised equivalent.
• Fluent English – both in spoken and written English.
• Good knowledge of computer skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Patrol lakes, rivers, sea, coast and estuaries to check for illegal fishing.
• Enforce bye-laws and regulations as required.
• Contribute to habitat improvement schemes and infrastructure.
• Assist and advise local anglers and the public.
• Maintain vehicles, boats, and surveillance equipment.
