Job summary

HireForce is seeking a Financial Controller for a West Kerry manufacturing SME. The role oversees day-to-day finances, builds robust financial controls, and partners with operations to drive performance and growth across domestic and international markets.

Reporting to the CEO, you will lead budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, VAT compliance, cash flow management, and quarterly/annual reporting, while fostering continuous improvement and strong commercial insight.

Qualifications

• Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting & forecasting: lead quarterly and annual budgets aligned with strategic objectives.
• Management reporting: present monthly accounts with insightful analysis to senior leadership.
• Business partnering: collaborate with operations to drive performance and commercial outcomes.
• VAT: ensure VAT compliance and legislation knowledge.
• Cash flow management: oversee forecasting, liquidity, and timely payments.

Financial Controller - Manufacturing - West Kerry - Hybrid

HireForce is delighted to be working with an exporting Irish SME that is looking for a Financial Controller to oversee their finance department. The Financial Controller will be responsible for numerous projects within the company and will report directly to the CEO.

The CEO is looking for someone who can oversee the day to day finances of the company and who will also have an impact on the commercial side of the business in driving growth in domestic and international markets.

This is a great opportunity for a Qualified Accountant in a similar role to take the next step as a FC in an Irish SME.

Key Responsibilities:

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation and management of quarterly and annual budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Management Reporting: Review and present monthly management accounts to senior leadership, including insightful analysis on financial performance and key trends.
• Business Partnering: Work closely with the operations team to drive performance, support project execution, and improve commercial outcomes.
• VAT: Good knowledge of VAT compliance requirements and VAT legislation.
• Cash Flow Management: Oversee cashflow forecasting, monitoring liquidity, and ensuring timely and accurate processing of all payments.
• Quarterly & Annual Reporting: Prepare and deliver high-quality quarterly and annual financial reports in compliance with internal and external requirements.
• Financial Controls: Develop, implement, and continuously enhance robust financial controls and processes to support scalable and efficient operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
