Job summary

HireForce is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take full ownership of the finance function in a growing Irish SME within the construction sector. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to strengthen controls, improve reporting and support ongoing growth.

This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced Finance Manager/Controller who wants to lead finance in a dynamic SME and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong management accounting and financial-control experience.
• Hands-on SME environment experience.
• Commercially minded with strong analytical skills.
• Construction or project-based industry experience would be advantageous.
• Confident working with senior management and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
• Manage VAT and other statutory returns.
• Monitor project costs, margins and commercial performance.
• Develop financial controls, systems and reporting processes.
• Liaise with auditors, banks and external advisers.
• Provide financial insight to support business decisions.

HireForce is working with a successful Irish SME operating within the construction sector to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a hands-on position offering the opportunity to take ownership of the company’s finance function and work closely with the senior leadership team. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving reporting and supporting the continued growth of the business.
