Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close and financial reporting to trial balance for two international entities.
• Review journals, provide guidance, ensure correct accounting treatment.
• Manage external Big 4 audits and liaise on queries.
• Prepare year-end accounts with Big 4 input; ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate monthly variance analysis with FP&A teams.
• Forecast quarterly cash flows and contribute to annual budget.
• Work with Tax on transfer pricing variances and model updates.
• Maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Lead process improvements; drive automation and AI adoption.

Job description

A hugely respected multinational company with a long-established base in Galway City are seeking a Finance Manager to manage international entities as well as manage a high-performing team of three qualified accountants who themselves manage three entities each. It will be an opportunity for a Big 4 qualified accountant who has experience working in a multinational company to join an innovative employer where you can progress your career in what is a large finance team.

This Finance Manager job

blends month-end close, financial statement preparation to trial balance level, external audit management with exposure to budgeting, deep-dive variance analysis and quarterly forecasting making this a well-rounded, broad role. Among your responsibilities include:

• Financial reporting and month-end close of two international entities including journal preparation, accruals and prepayments, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews after a 4-day close
• Review and approve journals prepared by your team, offering technical guidance and ensuring correct accounting treatment and associated commentary
• Audit management of your entities liaising with an external Big 4 firm for audit queries
• Prepare accounts to trial balance at year-end and work with a Big 4 firm to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements
• Liaise with the FP&A team on monthly variance analysis for what are mainly manufacturing and distribution centre entities showing your business acumen to unearth variance drivers
• Prepare quarterly cashflow forecasts and contribute to the annual budget formation
• Work with the Tax team on transfer pricing variances monthly and provide inputs to the annual transfer pricing model formation at the beginning of the financial year
• Ensure a strong internal controls and SOX compliant environment through both exercising and documenting controls
• Manage process improvement projects that result in time savings, increased automation and use of AI across the team

The package on offer is between €75,000-€85,000

with a competitive base salary, bonus, health insurance, company pension contributions, life assurance and hybrid working of 2 days from home.

To become the Finance Manager

you will be a Big 4 qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with post-qualified experience in a multinational company, or experience in a large Irish or overseas company.
