Job summary

DB Recruitment is recruiting for a Group Finance Manager in Ireland for an Irish-headquartered multinational. You will own group reporting, consolidation, technical accounting and broader strategic finance activities, with high exposure to senior stakeholders within a complex international business.

You will collaborate with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver robust governance and insightful financial commentary, while enhancing controls, policies and global reporting

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience.

Responsibilities

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently recruiting for a Group Finance Manager on behalf of a highly successful, Irish-headquartered multinational organisation with a significant international presence.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a high-performing Group Finance function and take ownership across Group reporting, consolidation, technical accounting and wider strategic finance activity.

The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and will suit an experienced finance professional who is looking to broaden their commercial and strategic experience within a complex, international organisation.

You will work closely with senior Finance leadership and a range of stakeholders across the wider business, providing high-quality financial insight while ensuring robust reporting, governance and controls across the Group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual Group consolidation and reporting processes.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial information for senior management and Board-level stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of the Group's annual financial statements and related disclosures.
• Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely and compliant with applicable accounting standards.
• Analyse financial results and provide meaningful commentary and insight to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate with finance teams across multiple jurisdictions to ensure consistent reporting and accounting practices.
• Continue to develop and improve Group reporting processes and controls.

Technical Accounting

• Provide technical accounting guidance across the Group, particularly in relation to complex and non-routine transactions.
• Research and advise on the application of IFRS and relevant accounting standards.
• Maintain and develop Group accounting policies and ensure their effective implementation.
• Assess the accounting implications of new business activities, transactions and organisational changes.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers where specialist accounting input is required.

M&A & Strategic Finance

• Support the Finance function on M&A activity, acquisitions and other strategic transactions.
• Assist with financial and accounting analysis relating to potential acquisitions and business combinations.
• Support the integration of acquired businesses from a Group Finance and reporting perspective.
• Provide financial insight and analysis to support wider strategic decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider organisation on key business initiatives.

Audit, Controls & Governance

• Manage and coordinate the Group year-end audit process.
• Liaise with external auditors and other professional advisers.
• Ensure appropriate documentation and controls are maintained across Group Finance.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls, processes and governance.
• Support the ongoing development of the Group's financial reporting framework.

Process Improvement & Technology

• Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Group Finance processes.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of finance systems and reporting tools.
• Look for opportunities to leverage automation, AI and emerging technologies to improve reporting, analysis and productivity.
• Drive continuous improvement across reporting and consolidation processes.

Stakeholder Management & Team Development

• Build strong working relationships with Finance teams across the international organisation.
• Partner with colleagues across Tax, Treasury, Legal and other corporate functions.
• Present financial information and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Support and develop junior members of the Group Finance team.
• Act as a key point of contact for Group reporting and technical accounting matters.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
• Strong post-qualified experience within a Group Finance, Financial Reporting or similar environment.
• Proven experience with Group financial consolidation and reporting.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of IFRS.
• Experience working with multiple entities, jurisdictions and/or international finance teams.
• Experience dealing with complex accounting matters and non-routine transactions.
• Experience supporting or managing external audit processes.
• Experience with business combinations, acquisitions or M&A activity would be highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data.
• Experience with consolidation and/or ERP systems such as HFM, Oracle or similar would be beneficial.
