Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will oversee AP/AR, assist with audits and drive process improvements in a fast-paced multinational setting. This role is office-based in Shannon.

Qualifications

Company Overview

Your new company is a market-leading multinational organisation with a significant international footprint is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Shannon. With operations spanning multiple regions and a well-established presence in global markets, the company offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where finance plays a central role in supporting business performance and growth.


This position offers the opportunity to join a high-calibre finance team in a broad role with exposure to international operations, payroll, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance and business partnering.


The Role

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function while supporting stakeholders across several international entities.


This is a varied position encompassing monthly management accounts preparation, payroll management, financial reporting, compliance and audit activities. Approximately 20% of the role will focus on payroll across multiple jurisdictions, including Ireland, the UK, Continental Europe, the Middle East and Australia.


You will oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, support annual budgeting and forecasting processes, act as a key contact for external auditors, and manage tax and statutory compliance requirements in conjunction with external advisors. The successful candidate will also partner closely with colleagues across finance to support process improvements and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.


The role offers excellent exposure to international operations and would suit someone looking to broaden their experience within a fast-paced multinational environment.


The Ideal Candidate

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) with three years' post-qualified experience and strong technical accounting fundamentals. Candidates who have gained exposure to industry environments will be particularly attractive, although those coming directly from a Big 4 or Top 10 practice background will also be considered. Previous experience with payroll would be beneficial, particularly within an international setting, though this is not essential.


Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. Strong systems and Excel skills are a prerequisite for the role also. Please note that this position is fully office-based in Shannon, with attendance required five days per week.
