Job summary

St Vincent's University Hospital invites applications for a Finance Executive Grade V in the Finance Department. The role covers bank, debtors, VAT, fixed assets, grants, balance sheet, and capital projects with year-end reporting duties.

Responsibilities

• Bank & Cash: Posting of bank transactions into cash management module weekly.
• Bank & Cash: Preparation and uploading of bank files at month end.
• Bank & Cash: Reconciliation of bank accounts for review by Financial Accountant.
• Debtors: Reconcile patient income debtors balances from PAS to GL monthly.
• Debtors: Prepare HSE debtor reconciliations for review by Financial Accountant.
• VAT: Prepare VAT liabilities for Canteen and vending machines.
• VAT: Post 'self-accounted' VAT on non-Irish purchases to GL.
• VAT: Reconcile VAT suspense accounts including balances for other SVHG branches.
• Fixed Assets: Maintain Hospital Asset Register and ensure proper recording of additions, deletions, movements.
• Fixed Assets: Reconcile asset register with ICT and Clinical Engineering registers; conduct departmental audits.
• Fixed Assets: Produce depreciation reports and journals for year-end; reconcile balances.
• Capital /ICT Grants: Prepare monthly reconciliation of all Capital/ICT Grants.
• Capital /ICT Grants: Analyze grants monthly and prepare accruals.
• Capital /ICT Grants: Record minor grants against related acquisitions; maintain audit-ready records.
• Capital /ICT Grants: Reconcile grant activity to fixed asset additions at year end.
• Balance Sheet Preparation: Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for review by Financial Accountant.
• Balance Sheet Preparation: Prepare monthly summaries of inter-branch balances.
• Balance Sheet Preparation: Prepare monthly Balance Sheet summaries upon finalisation of control accounts.
• Subsidiary Records: Assist with accounts for Pianora Limited.
• Subsidiary Records: Assist with statutory financial statements for St. Vincent's Foundation.
• Statutory External Audit: Assist in preparing financial statements for External auditors.
• Statutory External Audit: Assist with annual accounts in line with Dept. of Health requirements.
• Statutory External Audit: Respond to auditor queries during interim and final audits.
• Other ad-hoc responsibilities: Provide cover for finance team.
• Other ad-hoc responsibilities: Identify and implement system/procedural improvements.
• Other ad-hoc responsibilities: Perform other duties related to Finance.
• Capital Projects: Record capital invoices against capital budgets.
• Capital Projects: Prepare capital claims for review by Financial Accountant.
• Capital Projects: Track capital claims with HSE for timely payments.
