Job summary

Amazon’s EMEA Event Productions team seeks a versatile video engineer to support customers and events from filming to post-production. You will handle multiple productions end-to-end, collaborating with internal teams and maintaining high standards of quality and technical expertise.

The role requires travel within EMEA (~30%), flexibility for early mornings/evenings, and on-location shooting with setup and derig of equipment. You will work independently and lead staff and vendors when needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in video production or live events.
  • Experience designing, transporting, setting up, and operating production equipment for field and studio productions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers on the technical delivery of productions.
  • Set up and de-rig all equipment before and after a production (cameras, audio, lighting).
  • Direct and own event operations during a production.
  • Develop, document and maintain production/AV standards and drive process improvements.
  • Capture and edit video content including interviews, highlights, and promotional videos.
  • Lead and oversee vendor personnel when required.
  • Ensure Health and Safety policies are followed.

Description

The EMEA Event Productions team is seeking a talented and versatile video engineer who's primary focus will be to support customers with their events, filming and post production. A successful candidate will be an effective communicator that can handle multiple productions from beginning to end, under tight and evolving deadlines. They can work independently with little supervision and collaborate with internal teams to raise the bar with each production. They will be committed, flexible, willing to travel, and have demonstrated the ability to maintain high levels of productivity with minimal supervision. The successful individual will be required to find solutions for basic to complex problems, implement new and challenging standards whilst holding to the highest bar with regards to quality and technical expertise.

  • 30% travel within EMEA may be required to support off-campus events and productions
  • Flexibility to support occasional early morning or evening events as production schedules require
  • This role involves physical activity including equipment setup, rigging, and on-location filming
Key job responsibilities
  • Working with customers on the technical delivery of productions.
  • Setup and de-rig all equipment before and after a production, e.g. cameras, audio systems, vision mixers, play back systems and lights.
  • Direct and own event operations during a production.
  • Develop, document and maintain production/AV standards and drive process improvements.
  • Capture and edit video content including interviews, highlights, and promotional videos.
  • Ability to operate in the role autonomously, lead, train and oversee vendor personnel when required.
  • Work effectively and productively with team members and all levels of the organization.
  • Promptly report all needed equipment repairs and ensure preventive maintenance is performed.
  • Professional, and service-minded communication with customers and co-workers in all modes: phone, email, instant message, text or in person.
  • Raise the bar for our customers by searching out opportunities to evolve our services and to help others improve their skillsets and processes.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety policies are followed to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Ensure all Security policies are followed to ensure our customer data is protected.
About the team

The EMEA Event Productions team delivers world-class production services to Amazon's internal customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Our services span livestreaming, studio productions, on/off campus events, video production, and post-production. We operate from studios and event spaces across London, Dublin, Luxembourg, Munich, Cape Town, and other EMEA locations, supporting hundreds of events annually. The team culture is built around providing quality customer support for each production, to provide maximum results.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience designing, transporting, setting up, and operating production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment, for field and studio productions
  • Experience with video encoding and streaming media standards
  • Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
  • Experience using strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • 2+ years of professional experience in video production, or broadcast/events camera operation
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently
  • Bachelor's degree in film, media, production, marketing
  • Experience in corporate, broadcast, or live event environments
  • Knowledge of streaming technologies and integration with live event workflows
  • Knowledge/experience operating Ross video products
