Job summary

The River Lee is seeking an Events Sales Executive (Groups Lead) to join our hospitality team in Cork. This role manages all group enquiries (10+ rooms/night) from initial contact through event delivery and supports proactive Meetings & Events sales to drive hotel revenue.

You will build relationships with clients, agents and key accounts, coordinate group blocks, and collaborate with Reservations and Revenue teams to optimise inventory and conversions.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or sales is preferred.
• Strong relationship building with clients, agents and key accounts.
• Excellent organisation and discovery of group enquiries.

Responsibilities

• Manage all group accommodation enquiries (10 rooms per night or more).
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, agents and key accounts to generate repeat business.
• Coordinate group room blocks and inventory with Reservations and Revenue teams.
• Respond to enquiries within agreed response times and service standards.
• Follow up to maximise conversion and minimise lost opportunities.
• Support the Events Sales team in achieving M&E revenue targets.
• Assist with meeting room and event enquiries during peak periods.
• Conduct site inspections and client meetings as required.

An opportunity to join the sales team at The River Lee is now available for a passionate hospitality professional who wants to take their first step into a sales environment.

The Events Sales Executive (Groups Lead) is responsible for the effective management of all group enquiries (10 rooms per night or more) from initial enquiry through to handover and event delivery. As part of the Events Sales team, the role will lead the Groups segment while also supporting proactive Meetings & Events (M&E) sales activities to drive revenue growth across the hotel.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Manage all group accommodation enquiries, securing business in line with hotel revenue and profitability objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, agents, and key accounts to generate repeat business.
• Coordinate group room blocks and inventory management in partnership with Reservations and Revenue teams.
• Respond to all enquiries within agreed response times and service standards
• Conduct timely follow-up activity to maximise conversion and minimise lost opportunities.
• Support the Events Sales team in achieving M&E revenue targets.
• Assist with meeting room and event enquiries during peak periods.
• Conduct site inspections and client meetings as required
