Job summary

GLF is seeking an experienced Estimator - Building Facades in Ireland, with curtain walling / commercial window industry background to join our rapid-growth team. The role centers on tendering, cost estimation, and close collaboration with design and procurement.

Applicants should have a third-level qualification in engineering or related fields and a minimum of 2 years in construction estimating, with strong analytical and numeric abilities. Irish work eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Must have third-level qualification in engineering, building construction or quantity surveying.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience estimating construction projects from architectural plans.
• Knowledge and experience of curtain walling / commercial window industry.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with ability to review drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial understanding and ability to work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming tender and budget enquiries regularly.
• Update tender lists and cost estimates for projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and submit tenders.
• Communicate with contractors, design teams and suppliers.
• Hand over successful tenders to design team and project manager.
• Cooperate with other departments regarding project costs.
• Manage quality procedures within tendering department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Reviewing incoming tender and budget enquiries on a regular basis
• Updating tender List database
• Assessing costs of projects using excel spreadsheets
• Working on Logikal, or other façade software, may be required.
• Preparing detailed cost estimates for tenders
• Preparing and submitting tenders
• Communicating with contractors, design teams and systems suppliers
• Post tender analysis including value engineering
• Handing over successful tenders to design team and project manager
• Preparing project elemental budgets in line with tender
• Cooperating with other departments regarding projects’ costs
• Managing quality procedures within tendering department
  

Essential skills and qualifications required

• Third-level qualification in engineering, building construction or quantity surveying
• At least 2 years of experience estimating construction projects utilising architectural plans
• Must have knowledge & experience of curtain walling / commercial window industry
• Ability to manage time and work to deadlines
• Possession of excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Ability to review and analyse construction drawings contract documentation and specifications
• Excellent time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Highly engaged, proactive and motivated individual with a strong commercial understanding
• Previous experience estimating small and large-scale projects
• Must hold a valid work permit/visa
• Possess a good command of the English language
