Job summary

Dawn Meats is seeking an Environmental Graduate to join one of our production facilities in Waterford and contribute to day-to-day environmental management. You will work on data capture, KPI development and projects that advance sustainability across the site.

You will gain formal training, mentorship, and exposure to senior leaders while delivering practical improvements in energy, water, waste, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Relevant 3rd level environmental qualification (B.Sc./B.E. in engineering) or equivalent.
• Strong data handling and report writing abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Capture data on effluent, energy, water, waste and sustainability metrics.
• Format, analyse data and develop KPIs for reporting.
• Understand/operate and advise on effluent treatment processes.
• Perform laboratory analysis of effluent to verify performance.
• Liaise with external bodies on regulatory matters (EPA).
• Maintain ISO50001 Energy management system on site.
• Maintain ISO Environmental management system on site.

Role Summary

The successful applicant will be employed in one of our production facilities, operating as an Environmental Graduate. This will involve the day to day management of all environmental related activities along with a series of environmental and sustainability based projects.

Responsibilities

• Capturing all relevant data relating to effluent, energy, water, waste and sustainability measure
• Formatting and analysing all the relevant data and developing KPI's for internal and external reporting
• Understanding/operating and advising on effluent treatment processes
• Performing laboratory analysis of effluent to demonstrate healthy performance across all areas of treatment
• Liase with external bodies on regulatory matters i.e. EPA/Co. Co. etc.
• Maintain and improve ISO50001 Energy management system on site
• Maintain and improve ISO Environmental management system on site

Qualifications

• A relevant 3rd level Environmental qualification (preferably B.Sc.\B.E. degree in engineering) or similar
• A good knowledge of environmental scientific techniques, managing large amounts of data, report writing
• Excellent communication skills with fluent English
• The ability to work as both part of a team and independently is essential
