Job summary

Dawn Meats Group in Carrolls Cross, Co. Waterford, seeks an Environmental Officer to lead site environmental activities and sustainability projects. You will manage wastewater operations, monitor effluent, collect data, and report KPI performance.

Working with the Environmental Manager and Site Operations Manager, you will maintain ISO50001 energy management and ISO14001 environmental systems, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement at the production plant.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with fluent English.
• The ability to work as part of a team and independently is essential.
• IT skills in Microsoft Word and Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Understand/operate onsite Wastewater Treatment Plant.
• Perform lab analysis on effluent and adjust setpoints/flows based on results.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly records.
• Capture relevant data relating to effluent, energy, water, waste and sustainability measures.
• Format and analyse data and develop KPIs for reporting.
• Manage waste streams leaving site and maintain an online register.
• Assist Environmental Manager to maintain and improve ISO50001 Energy management system on site.
• Assist Environmental Manager to maintain and improve ISO Environmental management system on site.

Overview Company: Dawn Meats Job Title: Environmental Officer Reporting to: Environmental Manager & Site Operations Manager Contract Type: Permanent, full time Location: Carrolls Cross, Co. Waterford

Role Summary: Dawn Meats is one of Europe's leading beef and lamb processing companies with locations across Ireland, UK, France and continental Europe employing over 7,000 employees. We currently have opportunities for an experienced Environmental officer to join our production team in Carrolls Cross, Co. Waterford. The successful candidate will be responsible for all environmental disciples within the site. This will involve the day-to-day management of all environmental related activities along with a series of environmental and sustainability-based projects.

The successful candidate will be based in our Dawn Meats Carrolls Cross, primary production plants and will be responsible for:

• Understanding/operating onsite Wastewater Treatment Plant.

• Capturing all relevant data relating to effluent, energy, water, waste, and sustainability measure.
