Job summary

Dexcom Ireland is seeking an Engineering Technician 1 to provide hands-on technical support to equipment engineers involved in scale-up manufacturing for Dexcom CGM products. You will work on testing, installation, validation and transfer of automated equipment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include testing electro-mechanical assemblies, operating robotic systems, analysing results and updating technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
• Ability to write routine reports, pass downs and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers.
• Knowledge of PLC and Automated production/process equipment, Pneumatics, Electro/Mechanical systems and Packaging equipment desirable.
• Experience with process improvement projects (e.g., improving yields, reducing downtime).
• Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with schematics, diagrams and plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions.
• Test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using test equipment.
• Operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
• Analyse and record test results, and prepare written documentation.
• Perform operational tests and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
• Assist with equipment development under supervision of the project engineer, including assembly and testing.
• Follow safety and LOTO procedures.
• Update equipment documentation as needed.
