Job summary

Sherpa Kids Ireland is seeking a friendly programme assistant to support our before/after school and holiday clubs on-site at local schools. You will supervise children, help with activities, and create a safe, inclusive environment.

The role requires energy, enthusiasm, and ability to assist with homework and group games. Garda vetting is arranged after interview and two written references are required before starting; typical hours are 8:00-9:00 and 13:50-18:00, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-aged children (min 1 year).
• Basic knowledge of child development.
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
• Garda vetting is essential (completed by us after interview).
• At least 2 written references checks are required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during activities and free play.
• Assist with homework and educational tasks.
• Engage in a variety of planned activities (indoor and outdoor).
• Bring energy and enthusiasm to work with children.
• Assist with games, crafts and group activities.
• Ensure a safe, clean and inclusive environment.
