Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support end-to-end payroll across Ireland and the UK for approximately 1,100 employees, covering weekly and monthly cycles and ensuring accuracy, compliance and on-time delivery.

You will administer payroll using Sage Payroll, manage payments, deductions and benefits, maintain auditable records, and collaborate with HR and Finance to drive process improvements and answer employee queries.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years in a Payroll Administrator or similar role.
• Experience processing high-volume payroll across multiple entities.
• Strong understanding of PAYE compliance and tax regulations in Ireland and the UK.
• Advanced Excel for data analysis and payroll reporting.
• Experience with Sage Payroll and BrightPay.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and monthly payrolls across multiple entities, covering Euro and Sterling payments.
• Administer payroll using Sage Payroll.
• Prepare and process payroll payments through online banking platforms.
• Ensure payroll activities comply with PAYE requirements and legislation across Ireland and the UK.
• Respond to payroll-related queries and provide accurate support to employees and stakeholders.
• Manage payroll benefits, deductions, and adjustments (BIK, pension, healthcare, salary sacrifice).
• Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting files for audit/compliance.
• Prepare and post payroll journals to relevant entities and cost centres.
• Produce, review, and analyse payroll reports for management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
• Assist with payroll-related projects and process improvements.
• Carry out general payroll administration and ad hoc duties.
