Job summary

GPC - Global Professional Consultants in Dublin is seeking an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of projects from tender through to final account. You will work with Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients to protect margins and ensure financial control across the project lifecycle.

This role offers a dynamic environment with emphasis on risk management, accurate cost reporting and collaboration across multiple teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Electrical Quantity Surveyor in an M&E contracting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of BOQs, variations, remeasurement and cost control.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

Job description

Electrical Quantity Surveyor


We are seeking an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of projects from tender through to final account. This role is with a Tier 1 M&E contractor and is based in Dublin. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and clients, you'll play a key role in protecting margins, managing commercial risk and ensuring projects remain financially controlled.


Responsibilities


  • Manage BOQs, project budgets, cost reports and profit plans

  • Take ownership of the commercial position throughout the project lifecycle

  • Lead interim commercial meetings with clients and internal teams

  • Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments, retentions and final accounts

  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly applications, including remeasures, dayworks and variations

  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement appropriate actions

  • Work closely with Planning Engineers to align progress and commercial reporting

  • Cost and agree variations, dayworks and subcontractor remeasurements

  • Maintain accurate commercial records and supporting documentation


Requirements


  • Experience working as an Electrical Quantity Surveyor, ideally within an M&E contracting environment

  • Strong understanding of commercial and contractual processes

  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts

  • Strong knowledge of BOQs, variations, remeasurement, claims and cost control

  • Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills

  • Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise effectively

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
