Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our Cork team. You will manage commercial aspects from tender through final account, ensuring cost control and contractual compliance on projects across Ireland, the UK and North America.

The role requires 2–3 years in an M&E QS or similar role, with proficiency in Excel and QS software, and a degree in a related discipline. Salary is circa €70k-€80k DOE with a benefits package.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years’ experience in an M&E Quantity Surveying or similar commercial role.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Experience managing project costs across water/utility projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software.
  • Degree in M&E Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Be a strong written and verbal communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation for Mechanical & Electrical works.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist with procurement of M&E packages.
  • Measure and value works on site, preparing interim valuations and payment applications.
  • Monitor project costs and produce regular cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Identify, price, and manage variations, claims and change orders.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, site teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Attend project meetings and provide commercial advice to the project delivery team.
  • Support the preparation of project forecasts and assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.

Job description

Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, one of Ireland’s top Contractors have an exciting opportunity for an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role will be based out of their office in Cork.

This is an excellent opportunity for career driven individuals to grow and develop within one of Ireland's fastest growing engineering companies who operate in Ireland, the UK and Canada/North America.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from tender stage through to final account, ensuring effective cost control and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties:
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation for Mechanical & Electrical works.

  • Hold a degree in M&E Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering – or a related discipline.
  • Be a strong written and verbal communicator.
  • Be capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
Salary:
  • Salary circa €70k - €80k DOE
