Job summary

McGreals Pharmacy Group is seeking a part-time Dispensary Assistant for our flagship Blessington store, Co Wicklow, with duties including prescription processing, patient care, and stock management. The role runs every Saturday, with additional days offered during college breaks, and provides hands-on training under supervision.

The ideal candidate is a Pharmacy or Technician student with strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork skills, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Qualifications

Are you a Pharmacy student or training to become a Pharmacy Technician?

If so, this job is for you. McGreals are recruiting a Dispensary Assistantto work on a part time basis in our flagship store in Blessington, Co Wicklow. You will learn from the best, gain hands-on experience while also building up your skills and knowledge. This role is every Saturday and additional days will be offered during college mid-term / Christmas & Summer break.

What will I be doing?

Prescription Processing

• Receive and process prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare and assemble prescriptions under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
• Ensure prescriptions are stored and managed appropriately.
• Refer any queries, discrepancies or concerns to the Pharmacist.

Patient Care & Customer Service

• Provide a friendly, professional and helpful service to patients and customers.
• Deal with patient queries appropriately and refer clinical or medication-related questions to the Pharmacist.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and handle personal information in accordance with company policies and data protection requirements.
• Develop positive relationships with patients and contribute to a welcoming pharmacy environment.

Stock Management

• Assist with ordering, receiving and checking pharmaceutical stock.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with stock rotation.
• Check expiry dates and remove expired or unsuitable stock in accordance with pharmacy procedures.
• Assist with controlled drug and fridge stock procedures as required and under the direction of the Pharmacist.
