Job summary

The Talbot Group are seeking a Direct Support Worker in Monaghan. You will provide person-centred care and support to residents with Intellectual Disability/ABI/Autism, working under the Unit/Centre Manager to uphold high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Fetac Level 5 Health Care Major Award or equivalent.
• Experience in care environment.
• Knowledge of cognitive rehabilitation principles.
• Awareness of HIQA National Disability Standards.

Responsibilities

• Work under Unit/Centre Manager to maintain high care standards.
• Collaborate with MDT, families and others to meet personal goals.
• Act as key worker for a resident where appropriate.
• Provide individualised personal care with dignity and respect.
• Support healthy meals and assist with meal prep as needed.
• Promote good personal care skills (toileting, bathing).
• Ensure resident comfort and hygiene.
• Encourage community participation and activities beyond standard hours.
