Job summary

KM Lynskey in Ireland is seeking an experienced Design Manager to coordinate the design phase of multiple design-and-build projects across Europe. You will lead design teams, liaise with site management, contractors, consultants and stakeholders to ensure client requirements are met throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires at least five years' proven experience, strong knowledge of building regulations, and excellent coordination and communication skills to drive innovative, compliant design

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' proven experience in design coordination, design management, or a similar role.
• Significant exposure to Data Centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, standards, and construction practices.
• Advanced ability to interpret design documentation, drawings, and 3D models.
• Experience managing design programmes and coordinating design deliverables to strict deadlines.

The Role

As Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design phase of multiple design-and-build projects across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage design teams to deliver practical, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions.
• Liaise with site management teams, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure all client design requirements are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project objectives and develop effective design strategies.
• Demonstrate adaptability through experience across data centre, commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
• Oversee the production and coordination of design documentation, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Conduct design reviews to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, design standards, and codes of practice.
• Maintain strong awareness of commercial, regulatory, and technical factors that may impact project outcomes.
• Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in design delivery.

Requirements essential skills:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager or Design Coordinator with significant exposure to Data Centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, standards, and construction practices.
• Advanced ability to interpret design documentation, drawings, and 3D models.
• Experience managing design programmes and coordinating design deliverables to strict deadlines.
• Previous experience working with a main contractor is desirable.
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
• Full Irish Driving Licence.

Education & Experience:

• Relevant technical qualification or third-level degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in design coordination, design management, or a similar role.
