Job summary

Wallace Myers International in Cork seeks a Design Lead to steer complex, high-value projects across data centres, pharmaceutical and food production environments. You will own projects from inception through construction and lead the BIM modeling team, moving between design office and site as projects demand.

Ideal candidates have 5 years in design-to-fabrication, proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM and Revit, and familiarity with Navisworks or Plant 3D.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in a design-to-fabrication environment.
• Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM and Revit; Navisworks/Plant 3D or BIM 360 advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills with a track record of hitting project deadlines.
• Solid understanding of Irish building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage project workloads, ensuring delivery to required standards and timelines.
• Collaborate with design team, sub-contractors and clients to guarantee accurate installation of scope.
• Take ownership of QA/QC compliance for all work carried out by the BIM team.
• Attend design, client and site meetings as required.
• Support site staff by interpreting and amending models and drawings to align with project needs.
• Carry out clash management across all systems.

Are you a design professional ready to lead complex, high-value projects across data centres, pharmaceutical and food production environments? A specialist modular design and construction contractor in Cork is seeking an experienced Design Lead to join their team and help shape projects for some of the world's leading brands.

About Our Client

Our client is a sector-leading modular design and construction specialist, with over 30 years' experience delivering controlled environment solutions across data centres, pharmaceutical and food production facilities. Operating from their base in Cork, they've built an international reputation for technical excellence, completing projects across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe (including Germany, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Poland and the Netherlands) for globally recognised clients.

The Role

This is a key hire for the business, working closely with the design team across a number of live projects at varying stages of delivery. You'll take ownership of projects from inception through to construction, while also leading the BIM modelling team. Site-based experience is a strong advantage, and you'll move fluidly between design office and site as projects demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project workloads, ensuring delivery to required standards and timelines
• Collaborate closely with the design team, sub-contractors and clients to guarantee accurate installation of scope
• Take ownership of QA/QC compliance for all work carried out by the BIM team
• Attend design, client and site meetings, plus construction reviews, as required
• Support site staff by interpreting and amending models and drawings to align with project needs
• Carry out clash management across all systems where required
• Communicate changes in procedure and standards effectively to BIM project teams
• Ensure full integration of models into the federated model for overall co-ordination
• Conduct field surveying and verification of installed services as required
• Bring flexibility to the role as business needs evolve

What We're Looking For

• A relevant degree in a design or drafting-related discipline (desirable)
• 5 years' experience in a design-to-fabrication environment
• Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM and Revit; familiarity with Navisworks, Plant 3D or BIM 360 advantageous
• Strong organisational skills, with a track record of hitting project deadlines
• Solid understanding of Irish building regulations
• Experience contributing to projects from inception through to site highly beneficial
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to a range of stakeholders
• A self-driven, 'can do' attitude and genuine willingness to learn
• The confidence to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment

The Package

• Salary: €60,000 - €70,000, depending on experience
