Job summary

Corrib Oil is hiring a Deli Manager at our Tralee service station. You will lead the deli team, oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure high standards of food safety, and deliver excellent customer service in a busy retail environment.

The role involves managing labour costs, stock, and promotions, while collaborating with the Store Manager to ensure smooth store operations and a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Proven leadership of a small team.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety principles.
• Ability to manage stock, ordering and cost control.
• Strong customer service focus and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work within guidelines set by the Area Fresh Foods Manager.
• Manage daily kitchen operations (Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Meals, Chilled).
• Prepare high-quality, cost-effective food to meet sales targets.
• Provide excellent customer service across the department.
• Ensure HACCP compliance and food safety priority.
• Document labour, stock control, ordering and margins as required.
• Manage staff rotas within budget constraints.
• Promote Corrib Oil Loyalty programme to customers.
• Train staff to highest level per policies and best practice.
• Develop and motivate staff; handle staff issues professionally.
• Assist Environmental Health Officers during inspections.
• Collaborate with Store Manager for smooth store operations.

Main Duties

1. 1. To work within the guidelines and parameters set by the Area Fresh Foods Manager.
2. 2. Manage the daily operations in the kitchen (preparing Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Meals and Chilled Products).
3. 3. Prepare food in a high quality, cost effective manner, ensuring the department meets projected sales and contribution targets.
4. 4. Serve food ensuring the provision of excellent customer service throughout the department.
5. 5. Operate the Deli department in line with HACCP legislation ensuring that food safety is priority.
6. 6. Ensure all labour, stock control, ordering and margins are documented and communicated in accordance with required procedures.
7. 7. Manage staff rotas, ensuring the Deli department has sufficient cover and is within budget constraints.
8. 8. Constant promotion of the Corrib Oil Customer Loyalty programme, ensuring offerings are well advertised, up to date.
9. 9. Ensure all staff are trained to the highest level in all aspects of their job in accordance with policies, procedures and company best practice.
10. 10. Manage, develop and motivate staff and deal with all staff related issues in a professional manner.
11. 11. Aid and accompany Environmental Health Officers and other auditors during health inspections
12. 12. Work in conjunction with the Store Manager to ensure the smooth running of the store as a whole
