Job description

Corporate Associate / Senior Associate – Dublin

Prospects Recruitment is working with a highly regarded Dublin corporate law firm that is looking to appoint a number of Corporate Associates and potentially a Senior Associate as part of the continued expansion of its M&A practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a corporate lawyer currently working in a larger commercial law firm who would like greater responsibility, more direct client involvement and the opportunity to take ownership of transactions from beginning to end.

The Opportunity

Our client has a well-established and highly active corporate practice, advising on a substantial volume of domestic and international M&A transactions, including increasingly significant mid-market deals.

The team advises a broad range of clients, including Irish and international companies, entrepreneurs, investors and private equity-backed businesses.

The work will include:

  • Advising on mergers, acquisitions and disposals, acting for both buyers and sellers.
  • Managing transactions through the full deal lifecycle, from initial structuring and due diligence through to negotiation, signing and completion.
  • Drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, including share purchase agreements, shareholder agreements and investment agreements.
  • Advising on private equity, venture capital investments, corporate reorganisations and general corporate matters.
  • Working directly with clients and taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of transactions.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?

Greater ownership of transactions:-

Unlike some larger corporate practices, where associates can find themselves responsible for individual elements of a transaction, this team offers lawyers the opportunity to manage deals from beginning to end, working closely with experienced partners while developing their own client relationships.

A genuinely forward-thinking approach to technology

The firm has invested significantly in legal technology and artificial intelligence, including technology designed to improve the efficiency of due diligence and transaction management.

It is committed to embracing AI as an integral part of how legal services will be delivered in the future.

The firm also has dedicated resources supporting transaction management, allowing its lawyers to focus more of their time on the substantive legal and commercial aspects of transactions.

Excellent career progression

The firm has a strong track record of providing ambitious lawyers with significant responsibility and opportunities for progression, including a demonstrated willingness to promote talented associates to partnership.

The Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in speaking with corporate lawyers who have:

  • Approximately 2–5 years’ PQE, although more experienced candidates will also be considered.
  • Strong corporate/M&A experience gained within a leading commercial law firm.
  • Experience advising on acquisitions, disposals and other corporate transactions.
  • A commercial approach and an interest in developing direct client relationships.
  • An interest in how AI and emerging legal technologies can improve the delivery of legal services.
  • The ambition to take on greater responsibility and progress their careers.

Previous experience using AI-powered legal technology would be welcome but is not essential. A genuine curiosity about technology and a willingness to embrace new ways of working are more important.
