Job summary

SumUp Limited, regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland, seeks a Chief Operating Officer to own the firm's internal operations and align governance, resilience, and regulatory standards with its growth. You will partner with the executive team to set operational strategy, oversee outsourcing, ensure SEAR and Fitness & Probity compliance, and lead resilience, reporting to the CEO and board.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in operations within a regulated financial services firm or e-money institution.
• Proven track record in outsourcing governance, risk assessment and regulatory programs.
• Strong knowledge of SEAR, Fitness and Probity requirements and accountability frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Set and deliver operational strategy in partnership with the senior leadership team.
• Own the firm's outsourcing governance, including oversight, risk assessment and the outsourcing register.
• Maintain regulatory accountability documents, including the Statement of Responsibilities and the Management Responsibility Map under SEAR.
• Act as a senior point of contact for the Central Bank of Ireland, supporting inspections and regulatory engagement.
• Own operational resilience, business continuity, and wind down planning, including testing and incident response.
• Provide regular operational reporting to the CEO, board, and Central Bank of Ireland on performance, risk, and compliance.
