Job summary

Barden | B Corp is seeking an experienced Project Accountant in Wicklow on a 9-month contract, with a focus on systems, process improvement and strong financial controls. The role offers hybrid working and close collaboration with the CFO to drive group finance initiatives across processes and governance.

You will lead finance systems implementation, design processes, test and support users, and develop policies and SOPs.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification required.
• 2–6 years PQE in finance.
• Experience in finance systems implementation and process improvement.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting processes.
• Exposure to VAT/indirect tax across jurisdictions.
• Excellent Excel skills and ERP familiarity.

Our client is a growing business headquartered in Wicklow, with hybrid working available. They are looking for an experienced and qualified accountant to join their finance team on a 9 month contract as Project Accountant, in a role focused on systems, process improvement, and financial controls.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Working closely with the CFO, this is a project-led role taking ownership of a number of key finance initiatives across the group, with genuine breadth across process, systems, controls, and compliance.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing and improving existing finance processes to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve consistency;
• Supporting the implementation and optimisation of finance systems, including process design, testing, and user support;
• Reviewing, developing, and implementing finance policies, procedures, and SOPs;
• Supporting the enhancement of financial controls, approval processes, and governance frameworks;
• Supporting projects relating to VAT, indirect tax, and other compliance requirements;
• Working with finance and non-finance stakeholders to implement change across the business.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 2-6 years PQE;
• Experience in finance systems implementation, process improvement, or finance transformation;
• Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting processes;
• Exposure to VAT and indirect tax, ideally across multiple jurisdictions;
• Comfortable managing projects and stakeholders at different levels;
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with finance systems and ERPs.

This role will suit a qualified accountant with process improvement or systems implementation experience, looking for a broad and commercial contract in Wicklow with hybrid working.
