Job summary

HRM Search Partners is supporting a global consumer products organisation seeking a Contract Project Manager to lead a major capital investment programme at the Drogheda manufacturing site. Responsibilities

• Lead the capital project from concept through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Develop and manage execution plans, budgets, schedules, governance, risks, change control and reporting.
• Coordinate construction activities across architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and building services workstreams.
• Lead integration of manufacturing equipment, packaging, automation, robotics and utilities.
• Manage contractors, consultants, suppliers and system integrators ensuring safety, quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, validation and ramp-up while minimising disruption to operations.
• Monitor capex, forecasts and risks; identify cost optimisation opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, governance and regulatory requirements.

Job description

Our client is a global consumer products organisation seeking a Contract Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major strategic capital investment programme at its Drogheda manufacturing site. The role will oversee a facility extension and the installation of new manufacturing, packaging, automation and supporting infrastructure technologies. Reporting to the VP Engineering, the successful candidate will lead the project from design and planning through construction, commissioning, validation and operational handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capital project from concept, design and planning through construction, commissioning and operational handover.
• Develop and manage project execution plans, budgets, schedules, governance, risks, change control and senior stakeholder reporting.
• Coordinate facility construction activities across architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and building services workstreams.
• Lead the integration of manufacturing equipment, packaging technologies, automation systems, robotics, utilities and supporting infrastructure.
• Manage contractors, consultants, suppliers, equipment vendors and system integrators against agreed safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, validation and production ramp-up while minimising disruption to ongoing manufacturing operations.
• Manage capital expenditure, forecasts and project risks while identifying opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Ensure delivery in accordance with relevant safety, quality, engineering, corporate governance and regulatory requirements.

Experience

• Minimum five years' experience managing large-scale capital projects within manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical, industrial or similar environments.
• Proven experience delivering capital projects and managing associated project budgets.
• Experience managing complex construction and facility expansion projects, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment installation, utilities, automation systems and process engineering.
• Strong project management expertise across planning, scheduling, budgeting, governance, reporting and risk management.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple contractors, suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication, leadership, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related technical discipline; significant relevant capital project experience may also be considered.
