Job summary

A 23‑month Project Engineer position in Ireland is available near Sligo to support a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. You will manage the full lifecycle of capital projects, from feasibility through to commissioning and handover, while providing technical support to site operations.

The role requires delivering projects within budget and schedule, driving improvements in reliability and performance, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to GMP

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering or related field.
• Strong track record delivering capital projects in pharma/manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of GMP, change control, commissioning and qualification processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of capital engineering projects from feasibility and budgeting through execution, commissioning and handover.
• Provide engineering support to site operations and troubleshoot process equipment.
• Lead continuous improvement to improve plant efficiency, uptime and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with production, engineering teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure project success.
• Support process safety activities and ensure compliance with site standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee commissioning, validation and installation activities to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.

What you’ll deliver:

• Manage the full lifecycle of capital engineering projects, from feasibility and budgeting through to execution, commissioning and handover.
• Provide engineering and technical support to site operations, troubleshooting process equipment and driving improvements in reliability and performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant efficiency, equipment uptime and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with production, engineering teams, contractors and external suppliers to ensure successful project delivery and operational excellence.
• Support process safety activities and ensure engineering projects are executed in compliance with site standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee equipment commissioning, validation and installation activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Experience required:

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering capital projects within pharmaceutical, biotech or manufacturing facilities.
• Strong knowledge of change control, commissioning, qualification and GMP requirements.
• Experience with process equipment, manufacturing systems and site utilities.
• Understanding of process engineering, automation, continuous improvement and equipment reliability.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver projects on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
