Job summary

ESB invites applications for the position of Construction Supervisor in the Tullamore Central Region. The role leads line and electrical construction activities, ensuring work is delivered to time, quality and budget requirements.

Key responsibilities include planning, prioritising, managing contractors, ensuring safety and reporting, with engagement across internal and external stakeholders to maintain service reliability and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Network Assets and Standards.
  • Project Management and Quality Management Standards.
  • Familiarity with ESB Safety Rules.

Responsibilities

  • Plan work and set priorities in line with policy and rules.
  • Receive Construction work for the area including new supplies and diversions.
  • Ensure work is executed to SLAs and standards.
  • Monitor progress and quality of work by external contractors.
  • Schedule work using IWM system for efficiency and minimal disruption.
  • Ensure staff safety and timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensure required support systems are in place and operating.
  • Record work for Asset Management Register.
  • Manage and develop staff and customer relations.
  • Carry out safety and quality audits and provide feedback.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Applications are invited for the position of Construction Supervisor, Tullamore Central Region.

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for managing all line and electrical construction maintenance and faults activities assigned to him/her. All of this work to be done to time, quality and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan work and set priorities in line with Distribution & Customer Services policy and Business Rules.
  • Receive all Construction work for the specified geographical area, including all commercial, industrial and larger domestic new supplies, line diversions, response system improvement work, Capital Program Work for LV to 38kV and work on behalf of Eirgrid where appropriate.
  • Ensure that all work is executed to agreed SLAs and standards.
  • Monitor on-going progress and quality of work let to External Contractors.
  • Ensure that all team members are scheduled using IWM system in the most efficient manner possible, minimising disruptive influences.
  • Ensure that direct reports complete all work safely, on time and to standard.
  • Ensure that all support systems necessary to complete the work are in place and operating effectively.
  • Ensure that all work is recorded as necessary for Asset Management Register.
  • Manage and develop staff.
  • Manage customer relations.
  • Carry out quality and safety audits - staff and contractors – as per agreed audit schedule. Give feedback on performance to staff and contractors.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience required
  • Knowledge of Network Assetsand Standards
  • Project Management
  • Understands and applies the relevant Quality Management Standards
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ESB Networks Safety Rules
  • Knowledge of ESB’sITsystems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Offices applications
  • Understanding of ESB's Group policies in all dealings with staff, customers, contractors, general public etc.
Qualifications

Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate/A suitable Level 7 or higher qualificationin Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical or other suitable alternative qualification with a sizeable electrical theory content
