Job summary

Link Personnel Services is helping a well-established Irish contractor recruit an experienced Planner for a Dublin-based role. You will lead the planning and programming of major projects, working with project teams and subcontractors to ensure programmes are realistic and delivered on time.

Qualifications

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in construction planning.
  • Proven experience developing and managing construction programmes with strong sequencing knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes in line with project requirements.
  • Prepare baseline programmes, progress updates and short-term look-ahead programmes.
  • Monitor progress against programmes and identify delays or risks.
  • Analyse critical paths and provide mitigation recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Managers, QS and project teams.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to meet programme needs.
  • Prepare regular programme reports for stakeholders.
  • Assist with tender and pre-construction programmes.
  • Support contractual planning requirements and risk mitigation.
  • Attend progress meetings and provide planning advice.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for programmes.

Our client is a well-established, nationwide construction company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Planner to join their team in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional to take responsibility for the planning and programming of major projects while working closely with project teams, subcontractors and senior management.

The Role:
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes in line with project requirements.
  • Prepare baseline programmes, progress updates and short-term look-ahead programmes.
  • Monitor project progress against agreed programmes and identify potential delays or areas of concern.
  • Analyse critical paths and provide recommendations to minimise programme risks.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors and other members of the project team.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure programme requirements are understood and achieved.
  • Prepare regular programme reports and progress updates for project stakeholders.
  • Assist with the preparation of tender and pre-construction programmes.
  • Support the project team with programme-related contractual requirements.
  • Identify programme risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Attend project and progress meetings as required.
  • Provide planning advice and support to project teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to project programmes.
  • Assist with improving planning processes and systems across projects.
Requirements:
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in construction planning.
  • Strong experience within the Irish construction sector.
  • Proven experience developing and managing construction programmes.
  • Excellent knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple project stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
