Job summary

Kerry Parents and Friends Association is recruiting a compassionate Support Worker on a permanent, part-time basis (30 hours per week) to support a male individual with complex needs. You will plan person-centred goals, provide holistic care, and work with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and community involvement.

The role requires strong communication, accurate reporting, and a commitment to safeguarding rights and dignity.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with adults with an intellectual disability is highly valued.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to document and report accurately and professionally.
• Understanding of GDPR, Data Protection and related legislation is important.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to a male individual with complex needs.
• Plan and implement meaningful goals across personal, social, recreational and independent living areas.
• Advocate for inclusion and community participation while promoting dignity and autonomy.
• Maintain accurate records and complete reports to required standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and update care plans.
