Job summary

Kerry Parents & Friends Association in Ireland is seeking a compassionate Support Worker for the Outreach Service, a permanent part-time role of 15 hours per week. The role emphasizes person-centered planning to help adults with intellectual disabilities pursue daily interests, develop life skills, and engage with the community.

You will collaborate with families and healthcare professionals, maintain records, and contribute to care plans while upholding GDPR and safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent with 1+ years experience with adults with an intellectual disability
• Nursing or Social Care degree considered with 1 year of study or relevant progress
• Full driver’s licence and willingness to drive Association vehicles
• Must be legally eligible to work in Ireland
• Strong communication, documentation and GDPR compliance
• Rights-based, person-centred approach to support and advocacy
• Ability to plan, document daily activities and care plans

• Plan and set meaningful goals addressing personal, social, recreational, living, and community needs
• Guide and support individuals to realise aspirations and greater independence
• Advocate for inclusion and access to community opportunities
• Maintain accurate records and complete required reports
