Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) is seeking a Programme Assistant Driver in Navan for a permanent, full-time role (39 hours). The post involves coordinating daily programme activities, assisting with fundraising, and handling administrative tasks within the Community Centre.

Responsibilities include transporting participants, maintaining vehicle safety, and mentoring staff and volunteers while adhering to safety policies. Closing date is 2 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Full QQI level 5 in HealthCare Support or similar qualification is essential.
• QQI Major Awards relevant to IWA include Community Health Services, Health Service Skills and Health Care Support.
• Full driving license and willingness to learn to drive IWA buses are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the implementation of programme activities within the Community Centre.
• Support fundraising initiatives and carry out administrative duties.
• Encourage member involvement in developmental programmes and transport activities.
• Transport participants to/from the Centre and other activities; maintain roadworthy vehicles.
• Mentor staff and volunteers; maintain buses and ensure safety compliance.
