Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association in Clane seeks a Programme Assistant – Driver on a 39-hour permanent contract to transport members safely to and from the Community Centre and to lead personal and activation programmes. Close liaison with staff and families supports participation.

Applicants should have QQI Level 5 Health Care Support or equivalent and a full category D driving licence. Experience with people with disabilities, health and safety knowledge, and leadership abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Health Care Support or equivalent essential.
• QQI Major Awards relevant to IWA shown above; Health & Safety awareness.
• Full category D driving licence required.
• Experience with people with disabilities and health and safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead programme activities at the Community Centre, delivering daily activities chosen by participants.
• Complete report writing on programme designs and liaise with local resources.
• Assist with fundraising initiatives and administrative duties.
• Encourage active participation in development and activation programmes.
• Transport participants to Centre and related activities; ensure vehicle safety and maintenance.
• Mentor staff/volunteers and ensure safeguarding policies are followed.
