Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association at Ballycanew is seeking a Programme Assistant – Driver to lead daily programme activities and support participants at the Community Centre. You will transport participants, assist with personal care when needed, and help implement inclusive programmes in a safe, caring environment.

The role requires liaising with staff, reporting on programme designs, and contributing to fundraising and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Full QQI level 5 in Health Care Support or equivalent.
• Full category B driving licence is a requirement.
• Experience developing and delivering projects or programmes.
• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and transport safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of programme activities at the Community Centre.
• Record and report on programme designs.
• Liaise with local resources and colleges to implement programmes.
• Support Coordinator and Service Support Officer in fundraising initiatives.
• Provide administrative duties.
• Transport participants to and from the Centre and related activities.
• Assist with personal care of participants where required.
• Ensure health and safety standards and safeguarding policies are followed.
• Maintain and oversee vehicle safety and maintenance.
• Mentor staff and volunteers in programme activities and transport safety.
