Fortis Recruitment is assisting a Midlands-based insurance broker in seeking a Commercial Account Handler. You will manage a substantial client book, renewals, and relationships with long-term loyalty in mind.

Location: Midlands (commutable to the Mullingar / Athlone / Longford area)

Salary: €45,000 – €55,000 DOE, plus benefits and bonus

The Company

Our client, a well-established insurance broker with a strong regional presence in the Midlands, is looking for an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join their commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a substantial, well-established client, managing renewals, client relationships, and new business development.

You'll be joining a supportive, close-knit team where you'll have real autonomy over your book and the opportunity to build long-term client relationships within the.

The Job

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and fostering long-term loyalty.
• Oversee the renewal process for commercial insurance policies, including reviewing terms, negotiating renewals, and ensuring timely completion.
• Evaluate clients' risk profiles and provide expert advice on suitable insurance products and coverage options.
• Provide exceptional service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities to expand the client base.
• Ensure new business and renewal targets are achieved.
• Keep up to date with market practice and product availability, feeding back on market issues including pricing, service levels, and product development.
• Attend client visits as required.
• Adhere to compliance requirements and internal procedures.

The Person

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a commercial insurance role (agri experience an advantage).
• Minimum APA Commercial or Grandfathered Commercial status, with proof of up-to-date CPD.
• Excellent technical product knowledge and understanding of the commercial insurance market.
• Proven track record managing a portfolio of clients, particularly policy renewals and client queries.
• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favourable outcomes for clients and the business.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships to drive satisfaction and retention.
