Job summary

Inform3 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a civil contractor delivering commercial and residential developments in Wicklow. The successful candidate will perform accurate setting out and surveying on site, establish and maintain control, read and interpret drawings, and work closely with the Site Management team to ensure work is built to drawings, specifications and programme requirements.

Proficiency with Total Station, GPS and levelling equipment is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree/Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civil engineering projects.
• Strong experience with groundworks, drainage, roads and/or residential/commercial developments.
• Proficient in using Total Station, GPS and levelling equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
• Good understanding of levels, coordinates and setting out procedures.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Safe Pass and relevant site qualifications.
• Full driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out accurate setting out of works in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Establish and maintain site control points, benchmarks and levels.
• Set out foundations, drainage, roads, kerbing, ducting and other civil works.
• Carry out level checks and dimensional control.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Undertake as-built surveys and maintain accurate site records.
• Liaise with the Site Foreman, Project Manager and design team.
• Identify and resolve setting out issues on site.
• Monitor works to ensure they are being constructed to the correct levels, lines and specifications.
• Assist with quality control and technical documentation.
• Use surveying equipment and relevant software to complete setting out and surveying duties.
• Support the Site Management team with technical and engineering requirements.
