Job summary

DesignBuild Search is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a rapidly expanding Irish construction company. You will work on DC, Pharma and Industrial projects across Ireland and Europe, with occasional travel requiring an EU passport.

The role requires a degree in civil engineering or related field and 3+ years of post- college experience. You will check plans and quantities, liaise with consultants and subcontractors, set out using company instruments, supervise subcontractors and report progress

Qualifications

• 3+ years post-college experience in DC, Pharma or industrial projects.
• Must hold a valid EU passport due to travel.
• Degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy.
• Interpret contract design documents from client or architect.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and site workforce.
• Set out using instruments chosen by the company.
• Supervise and monitor subcontractor’s work.
• Report progress to Package Manager and flag issues.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve issues and ensure quality.
• Ensure BCAR coordination and adherence to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Weekly and monthly reporting to site teams and stakeholders.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as required.

The successful applicants will be involved in DC, Pharma and Industrial projects. To be considered you must hold a valid EU passport as occasional travel to European project might be required.

Requirements:

• Degree in civil engineering. Construction management or related field
• 3+ years post college experience
• Previous experience on DC, Pharma or DC projects

Responsibilities include:

• Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
• Monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect
• Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
• Setting out using a variety of instruments as chosen by the company
• Supervise and monitor subcontractor’s work
• Report progress of works to Package Manager and highlight any issues
• Provide technical guidance and resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
• Quality management and BCAR co-ordination
• Adhere to planning, health and safety and environmental standards
• Weekly and monthly reporting of data and information to site teams, key stakeholders and partners
• Other ad hoc duties that the Company may require from time to time
