Job summary

Global Professional Consultants Ireland is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the pre-construction team on various Data Centre projects in Ireland and Mainland Europe. The role is based in West-Dublin and requires occasional travel to project sites within Europe.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, at least 5 years of experience, and excellent IT skills. The position offers a salary range of €60,000 to €80,000, a 10% car allowance, and numerous other benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of post-graduate experience.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines.
• Experience working on large construction projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site engineering activities to meet programme requirements.
• Interpret technical drawings and monitor revisions.
• Ensure company procedures and clear communication with operatives.
• Monitor quality in line with the Test and Inspection Plan.
• Supervise site works and liaise with subcontractors.

Job description

Electrical Engineer required for a large general contractor based out of their offices in West-Dublin. The successful Engineer will be responsible for supporting the pre-construction team for several Data Centre Projects in Ireland and Mainland Europe. The role is office based in Ireland, but the successful candidate must be available and eligible (EU Passport holder) to travel occasionally to projects in Europe.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site engineering activities to meet programme requirements, including setting out and surveying.
• Interpret technical drawings, monitor revisions, and work with CAD.
• Ensure company procedures and clear communication with operatives and subcontractors.
• Monitor quality in line with the Test and Inspection Plan and maintain as-built records and surveys.
• Supervise site works, liaise with subcontractors, and attend management meetings.
• Support project delivery with planning, resource tracking, site set-up, and preparation of method statements and work packages.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 5 years+ post grad experience.
• Be available to visit projects in Europe (EU Passport holder).
• Knowledge of MEP Systems.
• Experience working on large construction projects is advantageous.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Fluent English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines.
