Job summary

Veta Virtual is seeking a CISO/VP Data Security to own a fintech/crypto cybersecurity program from policy to incident response. This remote, high-visibility role reports to leadership and guides vendor risk, regulatory readiness, and controls across the organization.

You will partner with ops and engineering, influence major business decisions, and maintain compliance with evolving cybersecurity laws through annual policy reviews and proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of cybersecurity leadership and ownership of a security program.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering or related field; master’s preferred.
• Extensive experience with security, DevOps, and incident response teams.
• Regulated industry experience and direct interaction with regulators.
• Experience with AWS and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Python or Go; data warehousing and analytics.
• Experience using AI tools for research and reporting is a plus.
• Based in LATAM or Europe for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cybersecurity across the company in line with laws and best practices.
• Lead selection, implementation, and monitoring of controls across systems.
• Serve as main regulator liaison during audits and ongoing engagements.
• Review and update cybersecurity policies annually with records.
• Report to leadership on the health and status of the program.
• Manage vendor risk and third‑party dependencies.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering from a security lens.
• Ensure secure remote access, encryption, and continuity practices.
