Job summary

Johnson Controls Cork is seeking a qualified Service Engineer to join our growing YORK chiller team. You will commission and maintain water/air-cooled chillers and heat pumps while supporting customer facilities in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

You will survey sites, prepare reports for quotes, and be the primary technical contact for complex service issues. The role targets major clients in pharma, life sciences and high-tech sectors in Cork.

Qualifications

• Refrigeration F-GAS 2079 certificate.
• Ammonia experience is advantageous.
• Trade qualification in Refrigeration or industrial electrician capable of cross-training on YORK chillers and heat pumps.
• Safe Pass Card & Manual Handling Certificate
• Qualified to NFQ 5
• Familiar with service/maintenance and repair of water-cooled and air-cooled chillers
• Commissioning experience on large ton centrifugal and screw chillers and heat pumps; factory training provided.
• Experience with York/Sabroe/Trane/Carrier/Daikin chillers.
• Full clean Irish driving license.

Responsibilities

• Carry commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial water/air cooled chillers and heat pumps.
• Provide up-to-date site surveys, records, and reports to aid quoting of new or replacement equipment.
• Primary contact for all technical service issues, resolving complex systems within defined timeframes and customer needs.
• Work mainly with Cork area customers in pharma, life sciences and high-tech sectors.
• Health and Safety is prioritized; you will work in a team yet often operate independently.
