Job summary

Sheridans Cheesemongers is seeking a friendly Cheesemonger for our Douglas store on a part-time contract (8-16 hours per week). The role focuses on talking to customers, sharing cheese knowledge, and learning about Irish and European producers, with full in-house training and opportunities for progression.

You'll help with stock, displays, tastings, and delivering excellent customer service in a lively retail environment, with a great staff discount on Sheridans products.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining food safety standards and allergen awareness.
• Keeping counters, fridges, and storage areas clean and organised.

We're looking for a Cheesemonger to join our Douglas location on an 8-16 hour per week contract. No previous cheesemongering experience is needed - just a genuine passion for food, great conversation, and a willingness to learn.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping counters, fridges, and storage areas clean and well organised
• Assisting with seasonal displays, including hampers

What We're Looking For

• Previous retail or food experience is helpful, but not essential
• A strong interest in artisan food, cheese, and local producers
• Friendly, confident communication and listening skills
• A positive, outgoing personality
• Ability to stay organised and calm in a busy environment
• Good attention to detail
• Self-motivated and happy working as part of a team
